We’ve had several tips for hot weather in the past to help keep our
critters cool. Here are some more ideas for those hot sweltering days.
- Refrigerate or freeze stones, bricks, terra cotta, or granite tiles then place in the cage.
- One pet owner made bean bags and froze then gave to the critters. Take two square
pieces of fabric, sew three sides together, fill with dried beans or rice, sew last side together, freeze or refrigerate.
These can be used as either heating pads (place in the microwave a few seconds) or cooling pads. Just be aware that rats
like to chew fabric and with the
goodies
inside, may try to get at them.
