A Swedish family found a 15-inch rat (not counting the tail) in their kitchen when their cat refused to go in there. It would not be scared away and even though it was caught in a large heavy-duty snap trap, it was so big that that did not kill it. It was able to go underneath a wooden plant where it got stuck and choked to death. Photos showed what looked like a huge black domestic rat.
